Reader's Theater

The last few weeks before break the student's practiced reading fluency with Reader's Theater.  Reading a play is a great way to practice fluency by re-reading a similar text to work on rate (speed) as well as learn to use expression.  Reading a play also helps students visualize what they read since there are no pictures to match the text.  Student's also learned to work cooperatively with their peers.

Student's each did a play for one of three books we read in class.  We were able to compare and contrast differences between the book and the play.

Below is the audio for each groups play.  Just click the title of each play.  Enjoy! (you may have to turn your speakers up ;-)
