On Friday we practiced 3 addend addition by making cupcake liner snowmen. The students could choose any 3 numbers and make their own word problem about their snowman. Then they wrote the matching equation with the sum and labeled their answer. Here are just a few of their snowmen:
Thank you to all the friends and family who made it out to our Author's Tea today. The student's had been anxiously awaiting to share their dinosaur stories. I hope to post some of their work on the blog as well as some voice recordings of them reading their stories. In the mean time here is a photo of our classroom today.
One more thing... If any parents have a group photo of the kiddos from today I would LOVE a copy for our classroom :) I also like to have a small memory for myself.
On Friday February 1st, we ready a silly story about why the groundhog is the only animal who can predict when spring will come. It's called 'Who Will See Their Shadow This Year'. Then we made predictions if the groundhog will see it this year. Looks like most of predictions were right! According to Puxatawny Phil, he did not see his shadow this year. Yay Spring will be here sooner!!
We will be using this blog to display things we do in school. From class projects to experiments and more, we will be able to post about it here.
