Recently we learned all about nonfiction books and writing. We focused our research on dinosaurs and then wrote about it. Each student was able to choose a dinosaur we discussed in class and then create their own all about book on that dinosaur. Here are a few samples of their work.
Those are just a few samples of the student's work. Now that we covered nonfiction we are working on our fiction stories about dinosaurs! We can't wait to share our fiction stories at the Author's Tea!!

This week we learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and why he was so important. One of the things he taught for was equality for all boys and girls no matter their skin color. We did a little experiment and asked the question 'Are we really different?' First we compared 2 eggs - one white and one brown.
After we compared the eggs and what they looked like on the outside, we cracked them open to see what they were like on the inside.
We observed that they were the same on the inside! We compared the eggs to people and their different skin colors and learned that it does not matter our skin color we are still the same on the inside and we have many more things in common with each other.
We are thankful for what Dr.King fought for! |
We will be using this blog to display things we do in school. From class projects to experiments and more, we will be able to post about it here. Archives
